Data Figures are in Number. NA - Not Available. As per data provided by States/UTs. Persons Engaged in Farming Sector is placed separately after re-classification of Self-employed Persons. Hence data on Self-employed Persons exclude the figures of Farmers/Cultivators. Farmer/Cultivator are those whose profession is farming and include those who cultivate on their own land as well as those who cultivate on leased land/other cause of suicide land with or without the assistance of agricultural labourers. This data depicts only profession of persons who have committed suicide and has no linkage whatsoever regarding. Data for Farmers/Cultivators (Who Cultivate Their Own Land) who cultivate their own land with or without assistance of agricultural laborers. Data for Farmers/Cultivators (Who Cultivate On Lease Land) who cultivate on leased land/work on lease/on other land (known by different nomenclature) with or without assistance of agricultural labourers. Agricultural Laborer are those who primarily work in farming sector (agriculture/horticulture) whose main source of income is from agriculture labour activities. Certain States/UTs Bihar, Goa, Manipur, Mizoram, Odisha, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Delhi(UT), Lakshadweep, Puducherry reported zero suicides of Farmers/Cultivators as well as Agricultural Laborers.
